Scientists have developed a technique for extracting lead from old batteries and use it as a main component for new solar panels. Researchers believe this method is the most environmentally friendly and economical.

Angela Belcher, MIT professor of energy and bioengineering, said that she and her colleagues have developed the most effective method for the extraction of lead from car batteries, whose essence is to disassemble the battery case and the electrode assembly.
